It is always fun to share the story of how VARIDESK® started and became the global leader in active workspaces. So, when D CEO called last spring and asked us to share the VARIDESK story I jumped at the chance to speak with them.

We started the company when my business partner, Dan Flaherty, started having back pain and his doctor recommended a standing desk.

We couldn’t find the right fit, so we created our own. As you know, the rest is history.

ince then, we’ve expanded exponentially. Right now, we’re selling active workspace solutions to 96 percent of the Fortune 500.

There are 20 companies left on the list, and we’re confident we’ll reach them all!

Once the article was written, D CEO asked me to participate in a photoshoot that was a little unconventional, to say the least. The theme was “The Death of the Sitting Desk.”

We loved it.

Sitting is slowly but surely affecting our health, so getting a little revenge on an old traditional desk felt more than appropriate.

D CEO’s creative team asked us to meet at the Anger Room, in Dallas, TX – a venue that allows customers to totally let loose on your frustrations. Within this room, you can come and destroy pretty much anything you can think of.

We brought a pair of safety goggles and a VARIDESK-blue sledge hammer, and I went to town destroying an old “traditional” desk.

I want to send out a big thank you to the following:

  • D CEO for helping to tell our story
  • Thomas Korosec, your writing really captured the spirit of VARIDESK
  • Jonathan Zizzo, you did a great job taking some amazing photos
  • The Anger Room, I look forward to destroying more desks at your space soon

I hope you enjoy these behind-the-scenes photos as much as I enjoyed shooting them. The complete article hit newsstands last week, and we can’t wait to share more when it goes live online this month!

Until next time,

-Jason
